WARFARIN

An oral anticoagulant. A treatment for Deep Vein Thrombosis.

Clot formation is inhibited by Warfarin taken orally. Clots may block the blood supply to vital organs, for example, the heart and brain. Warfarin works by inhibiting VITAMIN K, which is a vital part of the clotting process. It takes 2 DAYS to work fully.

I picture Warfarin as 'warfare' and i picture 'warfare' as a Roman soldier.

KEY:

DVT: Deep Vein Thrombosis
DANGER: Not used in early pregnancy due to risk of malformation.
2 DAYS: Time it takes to work fully.
KIT-KAT: Vitamin K
BLOOD: Bleeding in patients and unborn children may occur if an overdose is given.

The Roman sword represents the inhibition of vitamin K, which prevents the blood clotting.
